According to a study, Californians are among the worst drivers in the country. California drivers ranked second worst, just above Utah on such things as traffic crashes, speeding and traffic deaths. The best? Rhode Island.
The study by QuoteWizard took traffic citations, incidents of people driving under the influence and number of car crashes into consideration. These factors can drive up the cost of car insurance in some of the nation’s worst driving cities, the study said.
“California is number seven for accidents, number nine for speeding, and number five for citations. Even worse, its number two for DUIs,” the study reads.
The study even cites Sacramento driver’s increase in miles traveled as the reason for the city being the second worse driving city in the state. Oakland takes the top spot with Anaheim coming in third.
